The main motive behind following a skincare routine regularly is to change the way our skin looks and feels. We all have a bunch of products in our bathroom but are always confused about how to use them, what’s the right order to apply them, and all of that. Toners, serums, moisturizers, ampoules, they all feel like pieces of puzzles. To maximize the benefits of these products it’s essential to follow a daily skincare routine and apply all these products in the correct order.
So, today in this article I’m going to tell you the right way to use these products more effectively. Here, I will share a Natural skincare routine that you can follow to get natural and glowing skin.
Determine your Skin type:
It is very important to figure out what your skin type is before choosing your products. Because it does make a difference in your skincare routine. So take some time to determine whether your skin is dry, oily, combination, or sensitive.
Correct Order of Daily Skin Care Routine Steps:
Morning Skincare Routine steps:
Step 1: Cleansing:
It is very important to clean your face, as this will allow your pores to absorb your toners and serums much more effectively. Always use a gentle cleanser during the day and switch to double cleansing at night.
Step 2: Scrubbing: (For oily skin type)
If your skin type is oily, then you can use a very mild scrub to cleanse your skin occasionally. Oily skin is prone to clogged skin pores, whiteheads, and blackheads and scrubbing makes sure that your skin is properly cleaned. However, avoid using a harsh scrubber and always use a gentle scrub on your skin.
Tip: Use a scrub only 2 or 3 times a week.
Step 3: Tonning:
The very first thing you apply on your skin after cleansing is a toner. Cleansing opens up the pores and applying toner after cleansing will not only tighten the pores but will also remove any impurities left after cleansing and balance the oils of your skin.
But it is important to use a tonner that’s specific to your skin type. Now if we talk about the best way to use it, take some toner in your hands and gently press it all over your skin and let it sink in.
Step 4: Moisturizing:
Everyone needs a moisturizer no matter what their skin type is. Your moisturizer not only does the job of hydrating your skin but also helps trap in all the products underneath it to make sure the ingredients are more effective.
Tip: Always use different moisturizers for different skin types.
Step 5: Sunscreen:
Now if you’re done with these steps, you’re done with your morning skincare routine. But you’re still left with some sunscreen to apply.
Always Remember, that applying sunscreen is the most important step as it will protect your skin from harmful UV rays and will also act as a protective barrier against dust and pollution. After moisturizing your skin, wait for 5 minutes before you apply your sunscreen.
Natural Skin Care Routine steps for Night:
Step 1: Cleansing:
Your night cleansing routine should always start with breaking down your makeup with a face oil or an oil-based cleanser which is the most nourishing way to remove your makeup. You can also use a makeup remover of your choice. Follow up with a mild face wash to make sure your skin is clean and free of dirt and makeup. If you have acne-prone, oily or dry skin, I suggest you opt for cleansers specific to your skin type. So that your skin is properly cleaned without actually getting damaged.
Step 2: Tonning:
Tone your skin with the same tonner you use in your morning routine.
Step 3: Serum:
Serums are just shots of extremely concentrated nutrients, hydration, and anti-oxidants that penetrate deep into your skin. In simple words, we can say that serums provide additional nourishment to your skin.
You can use an antioxidant-rich serum that contains ingredients like Vitamin C, and algae extracts. You can even pick 2 to 3 serums to target your specific skincare issues like wrinkles, dry skin, redness, etc.
Tip: If your skin type is dry, you can also use the serum in your morning skincare routine. (Check out FAQ Page)
Step 4: Moisturizing:
Use a moisturizer that contains ingredients like aloe vera, glycerin, and hyaluronic acid.
Tip: You can use separate day and night creams for better results.
Step 5: Apply a lip balm on your lips:
During the night routine, switch the step of applying Sunscreen(in the morning routine) by applying a lip balm on your lips, as your lips have thin skin too and need constant hydration.
Tips to maintain healthy skin:
Wash your face twice a day:
Washing your face twice a day is the best way to keep it clean and dirt-free. Washing your face doesn’t mean overwashing, as it may result in dryness and damage to your skin. Do not wash your face more than three times a day.
Remove your makeup:
Never forgot to remove your makeup before your night skincare routine. You can use an oil-based cleanser or a makeup remover to remove your makeup before you go to bed.
Avoid taking Hot showers:
Hot showers can be harmful to your skin, as hot showers can open skin pores. To prevent this, always use cold water to wash your face.
Get 8 Hours of sleep:
As we are talking about a skincare routine, sleep may be the closest thing. Your body overhauls itself and takes back while you get a nap and it leads to a list of your looks. everyone needs 7-9 quality hours of sleep per night.
Proper sleep keeps your body cells healthy. Lack of sleep may result in dark circles and blackheads. It can also damage your skin.
Always use products according to your skin type:
Your skin products like moisturizer, tonner, scrubber, sunscreen must be according to your skin type. There are different products for different types of skin.
