Enough Sleep:

You can make sure to get 8 hours of good sleep every night. Getting an extra pillow and raising your head up can help you in getting rid of dark circles. As by keeping your head up blood will circulatel away from your head and face too. And it will reduce swelling and lessen the dark color under your eye.

Cold Compress:

Applying cold compress under your eye can help in relaxing and straightening your blood vessels, which can help in reduction of the dark circles. No need to worry if you don’t have a cold compressor at home. You can dampen a clean cloth with cold water and then apply it under your eyes for about 20 minutes and you will get the same effect as that of a cold compress.


Cucumbers have mild astringent and skin lightening properties which can help you in reducing dark circles.

We all have seen cucumbers being used as cold compresses in so many movies.

To use this you have to chop two fresh slices of cucumber and keep it in the freezer for 30 minutes and let it cool. Then take it out and  keep it for 10 minutes on your eyes.

Tea Bags:

Take two tea bags and soak them in clean warm water and then freeze them for about half an hour. After that, take it out and directly place them on both eyes for 10-15 minutes and remove it and wash the area with water.

Tea bags can also reduce puffiness under your eyes.

The caffeine present in it helps to constrict the blood vessels and help in the reduction of dark circles.

Minimizing Sun Exposure:

Dark circles can be reduced by protecting your eyes from the sun.  We all know that UV rays are very harmful for our skin and ultraviolet rays can worsen the dark circles. As the eye area is very sensitive, you should be more careful about your eyes. There are various ways to protect your skin from sun rays, such as wearing sunglasses, using sunscreens or moisturizers, and covering your face with a scarf.

Rose Water:

Rose water is one of the most common products, which is mostly available in everyone’s home. Not only does it smell amazing, but it also has rejuvenating properties, which makes you feel fresh. Rose water likewise cucumber is a mild astringent, which makes it work like toner also. So you just have to soak your cotton pad in rose water and then put it on your eyes. Just keep it on your closed eyelids for 10-15 minutes. Use this method twice a day and you will see the results soon.

Orange Juice:

We all know oranges are rich in vitamin A and vitamin C.

You just have to add a few drops of glycerin into orange juice, mix it well and just dip your cotton pad into the solution. Now let it soak the solution and then apply it under your eye.

By mixing it with glycerin you can also get a glowing effect along with vitamin C benefits.

Apply it regularly under your eyes for better results.


This is an amazing ingredient which is rich in various nutrients, including vitamin C, B and A, Sulphur, Iron, Potassium, Phosphorus and Calcium. Tomatoes also have bleaching properties which makes them a very good remedy for dark circles.

The tomato has lycopene, which is good for cardiovascular health and also vision of the eye. It helps in creating soft skin and decreases the darkening of your dark circles.

To gain Its actual benefit for dark circles, mix equal amounts of lemon juice in it and dip a cotton ball and then apply under your eye area. Leave the solution for about 10 minutes and rinse it with normal water.

Apply it twice a day daily for better results.

Cold Milk:

Milk has lactic acid, which can be beneficial in reducing fine lines and wrinkles and it also reduces dark circles.

Milk is rich in vitamin A which also contains retinoids that helps in looking skin brighter and younger.

Take some cold milk in a bowl and dip two cotton balls in it and squeeze it lightly to remove the excess milk. Now apply it on your closed eyes for at least 5-10 minutes. Then Rinse with normal water.

Do this procedure twice a day to get early benefits.


Here comes a wonderful ingredient which has natural bleaching properties. It helps in reducing dark circles and also improves your skin tone. Apply potato juice under your eyes using a cotton ball or you can also apply this solution with your fingers.

You can keep it for about 15-20 minutes and then wash your face.

You can also cut slices of potato and freeze them and then put them on your closed eyes for 10-15 minutes and rinse them properly.

TIP- Vitamin K, Vitamin C, Vitamin E, Vitamin A helps in reduction of dark circles so you should include these vitamins in your daily diet.
